Hi everybody! I’m so happy to share my daily life with you! I’m Adèle Belem, I’m 19 years old and I’m a currently dancer at Paris Opera Ballet.. Are you ready to see how a day in my life looks like?

Chapter 1//The awakening

The first thing I do when I woke up at 8.30 am is to take my breakfast, it’s very important to start the day with energy, a car without fuel can’t roll, it’s the same for dancers! The most of the time the morning, I drink some Earl Grey Tea and orange juice with omelette, kiwi, brioche and jam.. I think it’s very healthy and appropriate for a typical day of dancers. Usually, I leave home at 9.15 am for my morning class at 10.00 am at Paris Opera.

Chapter 2//Rehearsals

The rehearsals usually begin at 1.30 pm and end at 7.pm, it’s why we have to have a really healthy life style because it is definitely very important for a ballerina. The days are very long and I do my best to be reasonable in maintaining my body fit. I always have almonds, dehydrated mango or cranberries during rehearsals, I think it’s ideal! Moreover it’s very important to continue to stretch even after the morning class and before the rehearsals to maintain the body warm, here an exemple of what I do:

Chapter 3//Performances

Currently, I dance in the Midsummer Night Dream of Balanchine with the Paris Opera, it’s very magical. I do the role of a fairy in the first act and the role of a Lady in the second act. The performance begin at 7.30 pm and end at approximately 10 pm, the costumes were created by Christian Lacroix. The performance is the last step of the day, it’s like an accomplishment for me, a sort of satisfaction.
